The page load time refers to the time taken by a specific page or site to fully load and display its content after entering the URL. To improve your site's pages speed is tricky part. One cannot decrease pages speed with simple ideas; he/she needs resources, and he/she should plan thoughtfully for the optimum use of resources, and organize according to the plan made

Besides, high-quality content and quality link building, minimizing site's loading is an important part of SEO. The less is the loading speed of any site, the better will be the result on search engine ranking. Google these days focuses on user experience to rank pages in search engine; the better is the user experience, the more positive will be the result in search engine and with the worse user experience, the result in the search engines will be negative.

For the better user experience, one should make his/her site more user-friendly; you should present your site in such a way that the site visitors love the way of presentation. No one loves a slow loading site, they cannot keep waiting for a long duration and it leaves after a negative impression to the visitors and so does to the search engines. And in according to this search engines rank a site in SERP. Fast loading pages have less bounce rate and high average time on page which increases the user engagement. The lesser is the bounce rate, the better will be the search engine ranking. In the slow loading pages google cannot crawl the site for long period because of which search engines take more time for indexation while fast loading pages are indexed fast and efficiently. Such indexation influences to the organic search result effectively. The sites or pages that are indexed properly and efficiently are almost sure to receive large number of organic visitors.

For this, you have to go through different steps, different parameters, different SEO tools and so on. Website testing or performing website is the beginning point to the way to increase site speed. Similarly, you should go through marketing search, search optimization, advantages and disadvantages of various seo tools.
To answer the question running in your mind i.e. how to increase site speed, I am making this post. Here, I am going to talk about tips to increase site speed briefly.

10 Ways to Speed Up Your Website:

Make sure you are using fast and secured hosting provider(Server)

The speed of your site depends on the hosting company you choose. Hosting is an important part of a website. So, don’t look for economic hosting company as you don’t want to lose a good quality for the sake of small amount of money. You may even need to pay a little high amount for the hosting of your website from a secured hosting company with fast web server.

Do not keep more redirects

Redirection is important whenever you've been shifted to a new domain or you need to indicate a new URL location. Such redirects provoke after an extra HTTP request, the HTTP protocol has to transfer extra messages/information and the browser will show the redirected page. On doing this double job, double loading is required and ultimately the loading time of the site increases. The largest search engine i.e. Google has suggested not to require more than one redirect to go to a given resource, not to redirect to the pages that are already redirected to other pages/URLs, etc. You should remove such redirects which don't serve content. So, minimize the number of redirects and put on direct redirects i.e. avoid long sequential and indirect redirects.

Optimize the database that you've used to store information

The dynamic sites like e-commerce stores have many information and data to store which are to be stored in the databases and this can leave after an effect to the page speed. If you optimize the database you've been using, it will certainly help for overall site speed to increase. To optimize your database, you can add an index which helps to find it to find the information comparatively faster leading to the faster page speed.

Use a caching plugin (For wordpress users):

In your first visit to a specific web page of a site, the loading time is comparatively high as the browser should request and load after each scripts, images and texts but in your second visit to the same page or different page of same site, the loading time will be comparatively low if the site owner has used a cache plugin. Cache plugin stores information in the form of cache which shouldn't be loaded each time. So, if you own a wordpress site, install a caching plugin to cut off your page loading speed. Some of the free and great caching wordpress plugins are WP Super Cache and WP Total Cache.
If you aren't wordpress user, calm down. Just add Expires Headers and browser caching. It will also work effectively.

Compress your images

The large filed image take more time to be loaded and at the meantime while decreasing the file there may be a fear of losing quality of your images. So, compress your images with the help of some of the best compressor around the internet; they’ll decrease the file size but they won’t degrade the quality of the images.
Not only images you may compress your resources too i.e. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc for minimizing the loading time.

Don’t use too many plugins

There are some of the plugins which are necessary at any cost but there are many other plugins which make your site slow and aren’t effective at function too. Also, if important too don’t confuse your site with too many plugins. With the loading of your site, the plugins should also be loaded and the site with less number of plugins are loaded faster. So, delete and deactivate the useless plugins and those others which slow down your site.

Enable gzip to compress your website

Gzip is simple compression method to compress website's files which is the most effective currently available method that reduces the files' size by 70%. The compressed files are zip files which load faster in the users' browsers which will be unzipped by their browser and they'll see the normal content. This process reduces the HTTP response size and ultimately the response time is decreased.
You can find a hidden  .htaccess file via FTP in the root of your website. Open that .htaccess file of your website and paste following code

<ifmodule mod_expires.c=""> # Enable expirations ExpiresActive On # Default directive ExpiresDefault "access plus 1 month" # My favicon ExpiresByType image/x-icon "access plus 1 year" # Images ExpiresByType image/gif "access plus 1 month" ExpiresByType image/png "access plus 1 month" ExpiresByType image/jpg "access plus 1 month" ExpiresByType image/jpeg "access plus 1 month" # CSS ExpiresByType text/css "access plus 1 month" # Javascript ExpiresByType application/javascript "access plus 1 year" </ifmodule>

Use a Content Delivery Network(CDN)

There is a good trend of hosting the website's media files on content delivery network where web servers all across multiple locations are collected. CDNs hosting saves lots of bandwidth and reduces the number of requests being made by a site. This can help you to boost up your page speed.

Avoid query strings in URL

Remembering the URLs with query strings is not an easy job. The URLs containing question mark are hard to remember and pages with such URLs take more time to get loaded. From the Moz's website, I've found that question mark acts same as Ctrl + F5 because of which the page gets loading for long time killing the page speed. You should use query strings for dynamic URLs only but you should limit their number. So, try your best to remove query strings (question marks) from the URL of your pages.

Specify image dimensions

Before the images are loaded, the browsers render a page. Without knowing the image dimension, browsers cannot fix and leave after exact place for the image, browsers don't know how to present the content and in what layout. So, when you specify the dimensions of the image, browsers don't need more time to determine the size of image and loads faster.

Besides these, you can clean up your database, fix the broken links, replace PHP with static HTML where possible, use page speed tools, minimize HTTP requests, make landing page redirects cacheable, specify character set, reduce DNS lookups, etc.

Hence, page speed is an important factor for SEO and it can be boosted in many ways which are mentioned above. Try your best to achieve better user experience and ultimately the SEO of your page will be better leading to the high number of visitors.
